Welcome to HockeyStack! We're so excited to have you!

We're happy to walk you through the steps of product onboarding.

Setting up your instance

In the first email from HockeyStack you'll receive a link to set up your account. After doing that, you'll be able to set up a HockeyStack instance for your team.

Workspace Details

Your primary domain should already be pulled into HockeyStack (we get it from your email). However, you can add connected domains that you're using. They can be either different domains (e.g. company-event-2025.com) or subdomains (addresses that you're using in the following format: subdomain.domain.com, for example: blog.company.com). You need to add all of them to your setup by clicking "Connect domain".

If you don't have any subdomains, simply verify if the primary domain is correct, and click "Next".

Team Members

Now it's time to invite your team to join HockeyStack! Simply add emails of people who you want to add, and pick their role (you can read more about access levels in the Team Sharing section).

SSO

If you want to use SSO on your instance, read the SSO doc relevant to your provider, gather all of the information listed in the "Share Required Information with HockeyStack" section, and submit a support ticket at [email protected].

MFA

If you want to enable and enforce MFA, please refer to this MFA doc.

CRM

CRM data is the foundation for HockeyStack, which is why it's the first integration we recommend setting up. Pick your CRM system and click "Connect". If you have any problems, here are the dedicated docs for the most popular CRMs.

Many customers use both Salesforce (as their CRM) and HubSpot (as a marketing automation tool). It's perfectly okay!

Marketing Automation

Another important source of your data is a marketing automation tool. You need to integrate it with HockeyStack, by clicking 'Connect'. Details about specific tools are available in a dedicated doc.

Ad Platforms

As the next step, you can integrate your ad platforms. We need those integrations to display detailed data, such as ad spend. If you need further instructions, they're available in a dedicated doc.

Website Tracking Script

To be able to track your users' website actions, you need to install a HockeyStack tracking script on your website. Follow the instructions on the screen, and if you need more information, check out the Website Tracker doc.

Keep in mind that you need to add the script separately to each of the connected domains.

Funnel Stages

We're finally here! It's all about reporting on the funnel stages. How many MQLs did we generate? How many can we attribute to paid LinkedIn, and how many to organic?

To measure the impact of marketing activities on the funnel, you need to encode your funnel stages into HockeyStack. This is absolutely crucial to your future reporting. Getting them right is essential for accurate data.

Please refer to the doc about Funnel Stages Goals to set them up properly.

CRM UTM Fields

HockeyStack's website tracking starts from the moment you add the script to the website. That's why we enable integrating first touch historical data!

There are two options to pull historical data into HockeyStack:

  1. If you use HubSpot: historical data will be pulled automatically as the last step of this Onboarding process. Please skip the "CRM UTM Fields" step

  2. If you don't use HubSpot, don't worry! Please fill in the fields on which you store UTMs in Salesforce.

If you don't use HubSpot and can't provide us with UTM fields from Salesforce, it's also okay! You already installed the script on your website, so we'll have plenty of data about your users very soon. In this case simply skip this step.

Product Onboarding Completion

Congratulations! Everything on your side is done, now it's time for us to make the magic happen. Simply wait until all the checks turn green and then enter the product to find your insights! This might take up to 48 hours, depending on the amount of data we need to pull.
