Configure your instance set-up for Odin

To fully leverage Odin’s capabilities, you need to label your data correctly so he can understand the structure of your reporting.

There are a few key parts of the setup that are crucial:

Data categorization tab

This is the heart of the Odin setup. Here, you enable Odin to access any metrics and touchpoint hierarchies you want him to analyze. By default, Odin has access to your funnel stages, dashboard filters, and breakdowns. If you want him to use additional goals, breakdowns, or touchpoints, you’ll need to enable them in the Data categorization tab

Prerequisites

The Data Categorization tab is built on the goals and properties you've defined in your instance. If something you want to use with Odin doesn’t appear in the tab, it means it hasn’t been defined yet. In that case, you'll need to create it first. If you have any questions or get stuck—don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. We're happy to help with your definitions!

Correct goals

The Data Categorization tab uses goals—your KPIs in HockeyStack. These are typically defined during onboarding. You can find more information about goals here: Goals

Touchpoint hierarchies

Odin uses the touchpoint hierarchies already defined in your instance. You can enable them in the Data Categorization tab. If you need to create a new hierarchy that doesn’t exist yet, we recommend reaching out to us at [email protected]—we’re happy to help.

Your breakdowns and filters

Odin doesn’t have access to all the raw fields we ingest from integrated tools (like your CRM, marketing automation, or ad platforms). If you want Odin to filter or break down data by a specific metric, you’ll need to build a defined property for it and enable it for filters (this will automatically enable it for Odin too). During onboarding, we help you define the key breakdowns and filters you’ll need. If you want to build a new property, here’s how:Dashboard Filters
